Rhano's Story

Rhano Burrell is an American Multi-Platinum Music Producer,[1] Songwriter and Remixer. In the late 80's, Rhano along with his identical twin Brother Rheji Burrell, were signed as BURRELL to the newly formed VIRGIN RECORDS in America.

Born (Ronald Burrell) in Queens NYC, The Brothers Parents, Ida and Charles Burrell, along with older brother Anthony moved to Franklin Township N.J. While ultimately earning the rank of 3dan Black Sash in Kung Fu, SiFu Rhano began to hone his musical skills and talents in the basement of their house on Lake Avenue. The Band 'Inner Spirit' was where Rhano played on his first KORG synthesizer keyboard. Upgrading from the simple organ he received for just just a few weeks of lessons a decade earlier, along with singing Gospel and Choir music, Rhano realized the two could be fused into a very funky style. This style can still be heard in his award winning arrangements.

In the early 90's, Rhano and brother Rheji co-founded the innovative underground house music label, NuGroove Records, which has spawned some of today's hottest international DJ's and most beloved tunes. Their music has reached cult like status, earning greater than $500 USD per disc in today's market.

In the late 90's, working mostly with Vincent Herbert, Rhano & Rheji Burrell have authored, composed and remixed hit songs with top music industry artists such as; Aaliyah, Total, Monifah, Heavy D, Soul for Real,[2] Montel Jordan, 112, JoJo,[3] Brandy, Toni Braxton,[4] Foxy Brown, Ma$e, KRS1, Clark Kent, Gloria Estefan,[5] Vincent Herbert, Sade and many, many others.

Today, Rhano Burrell is once again a pioneer by developing new musical talent to present to the world, as well as paying more attention to his FILM and TV aspirations.
